ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops, maintains, and revises lesson plans, course objectives, syllabi, and curriculum to meet local employer needs. Provides instruction in good work habits and attitudes.
- Instructs and trains all students on the core competencies for their assigned subject
- Develops and maintains contacts with employers and local businesses to develop potential employment sites including establishing employer site tour visits for students. Assesses local needs relating to course content.
- Develops and implements an ongoing skills evaluation system of individual and class progress leading to course objectives.
- Works closely with administrative staff for individual student case management staff to provide ongoing student development, assessment, and guidance.
- Counsels students both on an individual and group basis in the area of responsibility, motivation, and self-confidence.
- Completes all necessary paperwork and systems data entry in a timely manner and prepares written reports upon request of the Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of three years of experience, education, and training in current practices of the subject area of teaching.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATIC SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumstance and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, possession of a California driver’s license, minimum auto insurance as required by law.
