The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is funding qualified nonprofits to provide storm recovery services to immigrant communities ineligible for federal disaster assistance that were impacted by the series of storms across California between December 2022 through April 2023. The Storm Assistance for Immigrants project provides the following services: (1) Intake and enrollment into storm recovery services for eligible individuals; (2) Storm recovery case management services; (3) One-time emergency financial assistance; (4) Language access to all non-English speakers in need of storm recovery services. The service period will be June 2023 through May 2024.
Applicants must apply for services with a nonprofit organization assigned to their county of residency or county in which they were impacted (county in which they were employed and/or formerly resided). Individuals may check the Office of the Governor’s California Volunteers website to confirm their county by zip code.
To apply for storm recovery services, contact 866-724-2023 / (866-SAI-2023) to be connected with a nonprofit organization in the selected county or contact an approved provider from the following list.
