ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives company vehicle, and monitors service and repair needs as appropriate.
- Makes appointments with customers for the installations of weatherization measures, and follows up as required.
- Delivers the appliance and properly installs the appliance or any other energy-saving program product or measure.
- Installs or repairs interior and/or exterior doors, and entrance door modifications.
- Installs and repairs any damaged glass or window units on the job sites, as needed.
- Installs any material according to program standards and ensures that the work will pass utility inspections.
- Installs a grounded outlet, if outlet is not property grounded, in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and ensures that all safety measures have been applied.
- Ensures client satisfaction by exhibiting consideration, courtesy, professionalism, and promptness in carrying out all duties of the program.
- Keeps accurate records of inventory and installments.
- Removes old appliance, if applicable, and transports it to be recycled.
- Travels to meetings, trainings, and program update meetings/conferences, as needed.
- Loads and unloads products from trucks, as needed.
- Keeps trucks and Energy Programs clean and free from debris.
- Follows all safety rules and procedures pertaining to job duties and responsibilities.
- Immediately reports to supervisor any unsafe conditions or problem areas.
- Per utility program, may install window evaporative cooler and Window A/C, Washing Machine
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent. Warehouse experience preferred. Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing products preferred—vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required. Two years of related experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees or organizations. Must be personable and be able to effectively communicate with others from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. May need to be bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Southeast Asian dialect) required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation and California driver’s license and minimum auto insurance is required by law.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Will require weekly travel to Energy Program job sites at 40% of the weekly schedule and other assigned divisional areas. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Ability to:
- Safely climb ladders up to ten (10) feet in height
- Stand for extended periods
- Bend, twist, kneel and stoop
- Lift and carry seventy-five (50) pounds
- Physically able to work on HVAC units.
- Travel to job sites, other locations, and outside training

- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
