ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Promotes to the public the availability of existing energy programs through authorized outreach channels
- Identify and prioritize energy-saving measures. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
- Prepare audit reports containing energy analysis results or recommendations for energy cost savings
- Provides energy information to the customer
- Prepare financial documents, reports, or budgets
- Inspect or evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or process systems to determine the energy consumption of each system
- Inspect facilities or equipment to ensure specifications are met
- Perform tests such as blower-door and duct blast tests to locate air leaks
- Educate customers on energy efficiency or answer questions on topics such as the costs of running household appliances or the selection of energy-efficient appliances
- Calculate data to inform organizational operations
- Recommend energy-efficient technologies or alternate energy sources
- Prepare job specification sheets for home energy improvements, such as attic insulation, window retrofits, heating and cooling system upgrades, water heating systems, residential appliances, and fuel switching
- Develop technical specifications for systems or equipment
- Analyze the technical feasibility of energy-saving measures using knowledge of engineering, energy production, energy use, construction, maintenance, system operation, or process systems
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services
- Measure energy usage with devices such as data loggers, universal data recorders, light meters, sling psychrometers, psychometric charts, flue gas analyzers, amp probes, watt meters, volt meters, thermometers, or utility meters
- Accountable for any inventory issued for installation or dissemination utilizing appropriate forms and procedures
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent; and associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years of directly related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills are required for data entry and other software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or organizations. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, a California driver's license, and the minimum vehicle insurance needed by law.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Will require weekly travel to local outreach areas at 20% of the weekly schedule and other assigned divisional areas. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

- Safely Climb ladders up to ten (10) feet in height
- Stand for extended periods
- Bend, twist, kneel and stoop
- Lift and carry seventy-five (50) pounds
- Physically able to work on HVAC units.
- Travel to job sites, other locations, and outside training
- Employee must be able to lift and move heavy appliances, with assistance, regularly.

Outdoor work environment. Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
